Florence Knapp is a British author and former heritage craftsperson best known for her bestselling 2025 debut novel, The Names. Before turning to fiction, she ran the popular sewing and quilting blog Flossie Teacakes and wrote about traditional textile arts, including English paper piecing. Knapp studied sociology at the University of Southampton and spent years writing fiction before achieving her literary breakthrough. She lives outside London with her musician husband and their dog, Nell, and has two adult children.
