Mona Awad (born August 22, 1978) is a Canadian novelist and short story writer known for her darkly surreal, satirical fiction blending horror, dark humor, and psychological themes. Born in Montreal, she studied at York University before earning an MFA from Brown University and a PhD from the University of Denver. She is best known for 13 Ways of Looking at a Fat Girl, Bunny, All’s Well, Rouge, and We Love You, Bunny. Awad is also an assistant professor of creative writing at Syracuse University.
