Gail Honeyman is a Scottish novelist best known for her internationally bestselling debut, Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine. Born in Stirling in 1972, she studied French at the University of Glasgow and completed postgraduate study at Oxford before working in administrative roles, including at the University of Glasgow. She began writing Eleanor Oliphant in her forties, and the 2017 novel went on to win the Costa First Novel Award and British Book Awards Book of the Year. Honeyman lives in Glasgow and has been working on a second novel.
