Ashley Audrain (born 1982) is a Canadian bestselling author known for her dark, psychologically intense novels about motherhood, family, and the pressures placed on women. Before becoming a novelist, she worked in publicity at Penguin Books Canada, leaving the publishing industry after having children to focus on her family and writing. Her debut novel, The Push (2021), became an international bestseller and was followed by The Whispers (2023), further establishing her reputation for unsettling domestic fiction. Audrain lives in Toronto with her husband and two children, and her third novel, The Things You’ll Never Know, is scheduled for publication in 2027.
