Agustina Bazterrica is an Argentine novelist and short-story writer born in Buenos Aires in 1974. She studied Fine Arts at the University of Buenos Aires and has worked as a cultural manager, literary workshop coordinator, and contest juror. Bazterrica gained international recognition with Tender Is the Flesh (Cadáver exquisito), which won the Premio Clarín de Novela and became a worldwide bestseller known for its disturbing exploration of dehumanization, consumerism, and institutionalized violence. Her other works include Matar a la niña, the story collection Nineteen Claws and a Black Bird, and the dystopian novel The Unworthy.
