Fonda Lee (born March 10, 1979) is a Canadian-American speculative fiction author best known for the acclaimed Green Bone Saga, beginning with Jade City, which won the World Fantasy Award for Best Novel. Born in Calgary, Alberta, she earned an MBA from Stanford University and worked as a corporate strategist before becoming a full-time writer. A black belt martial artist, Lee draws on her martial arts experience to shape the intricate combat, clan politics, and world-building of her fiction. Her other works include Zeroboxer, the Exo duology, Untethered Sky, and The Last Contract of Isako.
