Marcus Kliewer is a Canadian horror author and stop-motion animator based in Vancouver, British Columbia. He first gained widespread attention with his viral 2021 r/nosleep story We Used to Live Here, which won the community’s Scariest Story of the Year award and was later expanded into his bestselling 2024 debut novel of the same name. Known for unsettling psychological and supernatural horror, Kliewer followed it with The Caretaker in 2026. His work has also attracted major Hollywood interest, with screen adaptations of both novels entering development.
